nice. my thoughts on it are as follows. You could use this same technology to view different frequencies. Mount your camera of choice on the glasses and boom! IR, UV, Microwave visualization. Interfaces with Geiger counters for High Rad work, real time interconnectivity in a lightweight package. This is where we are going, I think. Our phones have reached a lower size limit, so now we change the interface. maybe a smaller hand held or wrist interface with a wireless brain in your pocket (phone), to a wireless glasses display.

gurl, where have you been? you should have signed that petition, like two years ago. I don’t have a problem with this, except for outdoor lighting. when I walk outside I need light fast. CFL’s don’t cut it and I don’t want to pay $30 for one LED light.

Washington, DC Metro Station on a cold January morning in 2007. The man with a violin played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time approximately. 2 thousand people went through the station, most of them on their way to work.

4 minutes later:
The violinist received his first dollar: a woman threw the money in the hat and, without stopping, continued to walk.

6 minutes:
A young man leaned against the wall to listen to him, then looked at his watch and started to walk again.

10 minutes:
A 3-year old boy stopped but his mother tugged him along hurriedly. The kid stopped to look at the violinist again, but the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time. This action was repeated by several other children. Every parent, without exception, forced their children to move on quickly.

45 minutes:
The musician played continuously. Only 6 people stopped and listened for a short while. About 20 gave money but continued to walk at their normal pace. The man collected a total of $32.

1 hour:
He finished playing and silence took over. No one noticed. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.

No one knew this, but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the greatest musicians in the world. He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written, with a violin worth $3.5 million dollars. Two days before Joshua Bell sold out a theater in Boston where the seats averaged $100.

This is a true story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organized by the Washington Post as part of a social experiment about perception, taste and people’s priorities.

The questions raised:

One possible conclusion reached from this experiment could be this:

So every year we all either buy a fake tree or buy a real one. I love the real trees, they smell so good. I have a bit of a problem coming to grips with the idea that I am supporting such a wasteful practice.

I have a solution!

replantable Christmas trees! Not a new idea by itself, but wait….

problem: you have to replant the tree when you are done=work. in winter. not cool.

problem: what then? let it grow and harvest it later? nope.

problem: I live in the city, where the hell do I plant it?

Here is my plan. read close.

What if you got the same tree for Christmas every year? pretty cool. It has more value (sentimental) every year it is used. How cool would it be to have a 30 yr old tree, the same tree you have always had, for Christmas? Quite a tradition.

Won’t it get too big? nah. I got that covered.

Where do I put it? For me, I could put it in my back yard. For a business, you would need to replant your sales. That means a truck. When the customers come back, give them the same tree they got the year before. Wouldn’t you rather pay $30 for the same tree, still alive, than a new (soon to be dead) tree?

problem: collecting the trees takes time and money. Yes it does, but if you don’t need acres and acres for a tree farm and you don’t need to replant saplings, then it may be a wash on the money. And you should have a loyal customer base.

I did not include all of the details. There are some ideas on customer service, branding, and some other things I didn’t lay out here, but I think the basic concept is good. msg me if you got input.
